A little Clark® Transmission & Equipment History...Clark transmission

Founded in 1917, many people think forklifts when they hear Clark Material Handling Co., but did you know the company began its life manufacturing transmissions & axles for the automobile industry? Clark is indeed credited with building the first truck with a hydraulic lifting mechanism, the Truclift in 1920, which had a capacity of between 4,000 & 10,000lb. - making Clark a true innovator in every sense of the word.

Clark Equipment eventually sold their Transmission Division to the Spicer Off-Highway division of the Dana Corporation, and subsequently sold their Clark Construction Machinery Division to Volvo Construction Equipment in 1995.

Although Clark Equipment Co. is no longer in the off-highway or heavy equipment industries, Associated Crane is here to assist you with you Clark Equipment & Transmission needs.
