A Brief History Of Volvo® Construction Equipment

Volvo's first foray into construction machinery was in 1950, with the acquisition of Swedish tractor & equipment manufacturer Bolinder-Munktell (BM). BM had a reputation for building tractors of unsurpassed durability, and with the inclusion of BM, Volvo produced one of it's first successful wheeled loaders, the H 10 Wheel Loader. The H 10 was a essentially a reversed tractor with a 1-ton capacity bucket attached to the front of the unit.
